Bone Suppression X-ray at Zwanger-Pesiri

Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology is constantly looking for innovative ways to provide the most advanced and accurate radiology care. Our latest offering provides a unique radiographic analysis of our patients’ chest X-rays by removing the bony structures in the chest for a much clearer view. ZP is providing Bone Suppression X-ray at all locations.

the bone suppressed image above  demonstrates a metastatic finding in the upper pole of the right lung.
PET/CT exam follow-up
This initial finding subsequently gave way to follow-up imaging that helped better approach and manage the patient’s course of treatment. The finding on the bone suppression is better characterized on a CT Chest (left) and PET exam (right)..

During a chest X-ray with Bone Suppression, you are typically asked to remove any jewelry to avoid interference with the images. You will stand against the X-ray machine, usually facing forward and then sideways. The radiologic technologist will then get the x-ray machine into position and capture clear images of the chest. You will be instructed to take a deep breath and hold it briefly while the X-ray is taken to ensure clear images of the lungs and heart. The entire process is quick and painless, lasting only a few minutes. The images are then reviewed by a radiologist for diagnosis.

Please leave all jewelry at home and wear cloths with no metal if possible.
