Studies have shown that over 5 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year, making skin cancer America’s most common cancer. There is also the statistic of one in every five American’s will develop skin cancer by the age of 70. Those are startling statistics that should not be ignored. Although skin cancer may be the most popular form of cancer, fortunately it is also one of the more preventable forms of cancer as well. Please see our previous blog on the importance of sunscreen! Besides sunscreen, there are some other methods to help in the prevention of skin cancer like, staying in the shade when possible and wearing sun protecting clothing.
