Digital X-Ray Services

Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen's discovery of X-rays in 1895 has provided great benefit to medicine for diagnosis and treatment of disease. Diagnostic radiology involves the use of X-rays to see inside the human body.

In the past, diagnostic radiographic images were recorded to film. Currently, we utilize advanced digital technology in all of our office locations. The images are recorded to special high resolution detectors and are processed by a computer. They are then sent to a central computer to be viewed by the radiologist. The actual digital images are available via our web portal for direct viewing by the referring physician.

Fluoroscopy

In our Massapequa, Plainview, Lindenhurst, West Islip, and East Setauket locations, we perform fluoroscopic examinations. Fluoroscopy is primarily utilized for imaging the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, and colon.
 

Just as photography has shifted from film to digital cameras and computers, X-ray has made the same quantum leap in technology.

• Filmless X-ray images are acquired and sent to the computer

• Small or subtle abnormalities can be magnified or enhanced

• The digital X-ray images can be transferred to a CD or printed on film or paper for your personal physician

• Your personal physician can view the actual digital X-rays, via a secure internet link, in his/her own office
