3.0 Tesla Ultra High Field Open Bore MRI

Zwanger-Pesiri is excited to offer the best in the world of MRI to Long Island. With our new 3.0 Tesla Open Bore MRIs in Smithtown and Medford (Siemens VERIO) we are able to combine the highest level of comfort with the highest level of diagnostic confidence available today. With the strongest magnet field strength used clinically, our 3.0 Tesla MRI is ideal for numerous applications including neurology, orthopedics, breast, and vascular imaging.

The Verio has the shortest length and the largest opening of any 3T system on the market today. We are able to reduce a patient's anxiety and discomfort and expand our care to otherwise hard-to-image patients. This system allows us to image extremely obese patients, providing the same detail and accuracy as any scan. We routinely achieve an outstanding level of image quality no matter who the patient.

3.0 Tesla Open Bore MRI brings new benefits

  • Unique combination of the strongest magnet used clinically with a 2.3 foot open bore
  • Shortest 3T system on the market today with the greatest level of patient comfort
  • Head outside the magnet for most studies
  • More head room, leg room, and elbow room
  • Ideal for claustrophobic patients, elderly patients, patients with pain or mobility issues, and children
  • Can accommodate obese patients weighing up to 550 lbs.
  • Fastest scan times, studies completed in 15 minutes
  • Patients receive a level of diagnostic confidence never before possible in their studies

With our 3.0 Tesla Open Bore MRI, we evaluate the most complex pathologies quickly and confidently. Physicians are provided with the highest quality images for the fastest and most accurate diagnosis.

  • Subtle cartilage tears, flaps, thinning, and edema
  • Tears of ligaments, tendons, and surfaces of menisci

Pelvic/Abdominal MRI

  • Detection and characterization of liver and pancreatic disease
  • Differentiation of benign from malignant tumors in abdominal organs
  • Ideal imaging for patients with mild renal insufficiency
