Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology utilizes four dual-detector state of the art SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) nuclear medicine cameras at our Massapequa, Plainview, Merrick, and East Setauket facilities.

Nuclear medicine involves the use of radiopharmaceuticals to diagnose and treat disease. Nuclear Medicine uniquely provides information about both the structure and function of virtually every major organ within the body. Nuclear medicine procedures are safe, involve little or no patient discomfort, and do not require the use of anesthesia.
