Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology is excited to introduce the latest, most advanced technology in cardiac imaging to Long Island. With the arrival of our new state of the art Siemens 1.5 Tesla Open Bore Espree MRI and our Siemens 3.0 Tesla Trio MRI, a comprehensive examination of the heart can be performed in 30 minutes.

MRI of the heart can provide all of the information of an echocardiogram and a stress test. MRI can demonstrate both tight and leaky valves, including evaluation of mitral valve prolapse. The heart muscle itself and how well it is functioning can be evaluated, including actual measurements of heart wall thickness and chamber volume. Like a stress test, the MRI exam can diagnose reduced blood flow to the heart and identify people at increased risk for heart attack--before it happens. MRI will also demonstrate subclinical ("silent") heart attacks.
