Cono W. Gallo, M.D. is a board certified radiologist since 2008 and joined the Zwanger-Pesiri team July of 2009. He specializes in musculoskeletal imaging using MRI and ultrasound.

Dr. Gallo received his BS in Biology from SUNY Binghamton in 1998 and his MD from New York Medical College in 2003. In 2000, he was awarded the Peter Cyrus-Rizzo Memorial Orthopedic Research Fellowship and completed a Summer Research Fellowship at New York Medical College that same year.

Dr. Gallo received the New York Medical College Trustee’s Academic Scholarship all four years of his Medical Degree, culminating with his acceptance into the noted Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 2003.

In 2004, he completed his internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. At Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Gallo completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 2008, serving as Chief Resident his final year. He completed his fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City in 2009, concentrating on musculoskeletal ultrasoud and image guided procedures.

Dr. Gallo has presented at the American Orthopedics Association and RSNA on multiple occasions. At the Hospital for Special Surgery, he continues to research both collagen structure changes in knee articular cartilage and the ability of an experimental pulse sequence to evaluate the progression of healing following arthroscopic meniscal repair in the knee.
