Digital Mammography

Digital Mammography at ZP

Mammography remains the best method for early breast cancer detection. New digital technology is gradually replacing traditional film-based mammograms the same way digital cameras have replaced film cameras. Traditional film screen mammography is limited in its ability to detect some cancers, especially those occurring in women with radiographically dense breasts. For this reason, extensive efforts to improve mammography have occurred.

At Zwanger-Pesiri, we are proud to offer leading edge digital mammography for the earliest detection of breast cancer. All mammography studies at ZP are interpreted by subspecialty trained radiologists specializing in breast imaging.

CAD (Computer-Aided Detection) is utilized on every study to assist in the early detection of breast cancer. CAD acts as a "second set of eyes" and helps to locate masses and calcifications. According to the FDA, CAD could increase breast cancer early detection rates by as much as 23.4 percent.
